254 Appendix ABOUT THE AUTHOR Denise Spoon, born (1990) and raised in Oostvoorne. She completed her VWO education in 2009 and then enrolled in the Bachelor of Medicine program at Erasmus University Rotterdam, in 2011 she switched to the Bachelor of Nursing program at Hogeschool Rotterdam, graduating successfully in 2015. Following her graduation, Denise worked as a registered nurse on the Cardiology and Cardiothoracic surgery wards at the Erasmus MC until December 2022. During this period she completed her specialization as a Cardiac Care Unit nurse and became a board member of the Nursing Advisory Board (VAR). Driven by her interest in research, Denise started her Master’s in Nursing Science at Utrecht University right after graduation as a nurse. Denise earned her Master’s degree in Nursing Science in 2018 and then began working as a junior researcher. In 2020, she started her PhD program under the guidance of Prof.dr. Monique van Dijk and Dr. Erwin Ista.
