216 Appendices About the author Daan Hulsmans was born on September 23rd 1991 in Venlo, the Netherlands. After completing his secondary education at Valuascollege, he studied social work at the HAN University of Applied Sciences in Nijmegen. He graduated as a social worker in 2015, after which he completed a twoyear pre-master Educational Sciences at Radboud University Nijmegen. Between 2017 and 2019 he completed the Research Master Behavioural Science at Radboud University (cum laude). After graduating he briefly worked as a junior researcher at care organization Pluryn before starting his PhD project in April 2020 at the Behavioural Science Institute of Radboud University. During his PhD he joined several lab groups: the n=1 research group at Pluryn, the SAF (Substance use, Addiction, Food) group, the Radboud Interdisciplinary Complexity Hub (RICH) and he was an active member of the Complex in Behavioural Science (CiBS) group. In addition to his research, Daan coordinates and teaches Analyse 4, which is a course on idiographic timeseries analyses for Bachelor students Pedagogical and Educational Sciences. He also teaches Analyse 1 (descriptive statistics) within the same Bachelor program, supervises Bachelor and Master theses and gives guest lectures at various courses on complexity science. Daan obtained his University Teaching Qualification in 2023. In 2024 he became a postdoctoral researcher at both Radboud University and the University of Groningen.
