214 Appendices Research data management This research was conducted in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and all applicable laws and ethical guidelines. The Ethical Committee of the faculty of Social Sciences (ECSS) has given a positive advice to conduct these studies to the Dean of the Faculty, who formally approved two rounds of data collection (ECSS–2015–0903–303; ECSS–2020–105). Data collection of chapter 2 and 3 were funded by Fonds NutsOhra (project no. 1402-061) while that of Chapter 4 and 5 was funded by the Netherlands Organization for Health Research and Development (ZonMw project 555002014). Radboud University and the Behavioural Science Institute (BSI) have set strict conditions for the management of research data. Research Data Management was conducted according to the FAIR principles. All research data resulting from this dissertation were handled in accordance with the university’s research data management policy (https://www.ru.nl/rdm/) and the BSI’s research data management protocol (https://www.radboudnet. nl/bsi/rdm). The privacy of participants has been warranted using random individual participant IDs. Encrypted pseudonymization key files linking these random participant IDs with identifiable personal information were/ are stored on a secure network drive and were/are only accessible to the principal investigators. The key files for all chapters were destroyed within one month after data processing was completed. To enhance open science and transparent research practices, R scripts were registered in Open Science Framework (https://osf.io) and deposited on the Data Archiving and Networked Services (https://dans.knaw.nl/nl/data-stations/). Below I explicate open practices per chapter. • Chapter 2 R scripts are openly available via https://doi.org/10.17605/OSF.IO/ UMYRW • Chapter 3 Processed data are available upon request from https://doi. org/10.17026/dans-z88-5vsy and R codes publicly available via https://doi. org/10.17605/OSF.IO/P5ABR. • Chapter 4 The data are available upon request from https://doi.org/10.17026/ dans-zkw-fbvs. The study’s pre-registration, justifications for later amendments to the design are available from https://doi.org/10.17605/OSF. IO/7T2YX while R scripts can be found at https://doi.org/10.17605/OSF.IO/DPBK8. • Chapter 5 Data collection procedures relevant for this paper, such as personality screening and daily diaries, were pre-registered at https://doi. org/10.17605/OSF.IO/7T2YX. Chapter 5’s research questions and analyses were largely exploratory and were therefore not pre-registered. The dataset is
