73 Change in symptom severity and personal recovery In a model with only total symptom severity, 31.8% of the variance of change in personal recovery was explained. In a model with the separate symptom domains, change in depression/anxiety symptoms was most strongly associated with change in personal recovery (explained variance 27.3%), and negative symptoms also added slightly (6.5%). Change in positive and excitement symptoms did not significantly contribute to change in personal recovery (Table 3). Other symptom domains did not significantly add to the explained variance (Table 4).
