They highlighted that it could help them see their daily work practices in a new light: “Narrative medicine is still a long way from your regular work method. It would be nice if you could get a little more dexterity in it. That’s why it’s important that there’s regularity.” (nurse) In the context of the written reflections, several participants mentioned that they were surprised by the variety of stories the writing prompt inspired. They were also grateful for the opportunity to talk with colleagues and patients in a different setting beside regular committees and share their work and life experiences. Participants were hopeful that this NM approach for sharing with their colleagues would have a positive impact on their future personal interactions. The following fragment support the mentioned previously: “Regularly, we’re in committees together, for example, and what we share here in the NM session about different elements of narratives we don’t really discuss otherwise. And maybe I’ll talk about these things with you again if I run into you.” (physician) Participants provided valuable feedback regarding the NM session location, duration, and frequency. Some reiterated that a NM series should preferably take place directedly after the day shift (from 4-5PM) in the hospital; almost all interviewees considered a frequency of every 4-6 weeks ideal.
