113 A NM intervention on the OB-GYN work floor using site-specific poetry and 3 professionals (a nurse, secretary, and obstetrician). In one-on-one sessions they were invited to read and discuss the poem; the patients were asked to write a personal reflection as comment on the poem and suggest modifications to the draft from their personal view. The professionals were also asked to write a reflection including anecdotes from their professional encounters about stigmatization or shame and corrected terminology. RN used the feedback to further finetune the poem. The final version, entitled ‘Male-unless otherwise indicated’ includes five cantos related to the following themes: 1. gender, 2. language, 3. voiding, 4. shame, and 5. creation The poem contains many intertextual and intercultural references. Evocations of scientific publications and population statistics are also woven throughout the blind verse cantos; for example, reference is made to Caroline Criado Perez’s (2019) book ‘Invisible Woman: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men’. The cantos are narrated by a range of tellers, including the Sumerian goddess Inanna, a gynecologist, and a male first-person narrator. (See S1 file for the poem ‘Male-unless otherwise indicated’) Data collection Three NM sessions and fourteen semi-structured interviews with professionals and patients were conducted. Formal ethics approval was we obtained by the Institutional Medical Ethics Review Committee (Reference number: 2022/70). All participants provided written informed consent for the use of their formative data. Participating in the study was entirely voluntarily.
