Psychiatric vulnerability and the risk for unintended pregnancies, a systematic review and meta-analysis 43 household income, marital status, age, partner relationship, partner violence and reproductive coercion are also taken into account when investigating UPs. Implications In conclusion, we have found a high prevalence of UPs in women with psychiatric vulnerability, and an increased risk of UPs in psychiatric vulnerable pregnant women compared to pregnant women without psychiatric vulnerability. Given the known adverse outcomes of UPs for maternal and offspring health, we underline the importance of discussing family planning with all women at reproductive age with psychiatric vulnerability routinely to avoid any harm due to UPs.
