Cognitive performance. The objective Remote Associates Test (RAT; Mednick, 1968; Dutch version by Chermahini, Hickendorff, & Hommel, 2012) was used to measure cognitive performance. In this test, participants are provided with word triplets and asked to come up with a fourth word that is associatively related to all three stimulus words.
